I have a mint 2004 Yamaha YZ250 2 stroke. Just put in a fresh 285 big bore kit from max power (maxrpms.com) cost me about $600. Going to break it in tomorrow 3/20. Has Pro Circuit Works pipe and R304 shorty muffler. Excel rims. Newer tires. Brand new graphics kit. Has been jetted correctly to accommodate for the exhaust and big bore and runs perfectly.
